From mid next year, a ship service travelling from Mumbai and Goa will resume its services after nearly a quarter of a century.
According to this news reported by Mumbai Mirror, a ship service will start operations in 2017 March or April. Apparently, a long time ago, this service was active and commonly used, but was discontinued due to concerns by the Indian Navy.
Now, the Mumbai Port Trust and the Maharashtra Maritime Board have collaborated to bring back this mode of transport. The ship will start its journey from either Bhaucha Dhakka or Ferry Wharf in Mumbai and after a few stops, end in Panjim, the capital of Goa.
While it all seems a little unclear at the moment, we are certainly excited about reducing our travel cost to the city we frequently visit most.
