What Is It?

The Gig Week is a seven-day long travelling music festival across Pune and Mumbai that will bring independent music to us from all over India. In Mumbai, it begins on Tuesday, January 17 and goes on till Sunday, January 21, and you can catch some brilliant new-age artists from a pool of genres at your friendly neighbourhood bars.

Who Is It For?

14012017_gigweek02It’s for those who enjoy exploring and diversifying their music palate, but don’t usually get the time to go out of the city for a stretch of three to four days at a time. At The Gig Week, what’s awesome is that you can, through the week, just hit up central spots like AntiSocial and Summerhouse post work to get your musical dose.

Why Should I Go?

On the January 17 at Café Zoe, artists Aarifah Rebello, Kamakshi Khanna Collective and Chayan & Smriti are performing, plus it’s a free gig. The next day on the January 18, you can watch XXX UP7T, _RHL and The Last Skeptik {tickets available here}.

Like Soulmate and missed her last gig in Mumbai? Catch the beautiful soul blues performance by her and Sharvi {winner of The Stage 2} at Todi Mill Social on the January 19 {book your tickets here} and at the same venue, watch DJ Proof and Ritviz the next day {it’s free gig, yay}.

The Gig Week then ends at the newest venue, Summerhouse Café with performances by Gumbal, When Chai Met Toast, The F-16s on the January 21 {tickets available here}.
