As our Instagram feeds fill up with pictures of the Lakme Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2017, it all seems highly glamorous, and let’s face it, downright unaffordable and even unwearable. Right? Well, not really.
Despite the luxury fashion that goes on in the ramps, there are a few designers whose brands are younger, playful and price tags still reasonable {relatively speaking, that is}.
The Right Cut is a brand from Surat by Avisha and Ilakshi, displaying at the Fashion Week. We were entranced by the whimsical, simple style of the clothes. Their new Marigold collection is an all-off-white line, with loose, shapely silhouettes and colourful embroidery of flowers fresh off the field.

Fun checks, candy stripes, greens, cotton candy pink and other pop colours, that’s what Rara Avis by Sonal Verma’s collection is made of.
The brand is from New Delhi, and the collection would be of interest to anyone who loves a good statement piece. The silhouettes include wide-legged pants with prints, striped jackets with detailed pockets, and everything you would want for a true summertime date.

Are you as enchanted with plushy pandas as we are? Say yes, and allow us to introduce to you this brand, Poochki which has tiny pandas on bomber jackets and palm trees on bikini crop tops.
Poochki is by Ishanee Mukherjee and Anirudh Chawla of New Delhi, and this collection called ‘air’ is light, airy, and of semi transparent cloth with adorable panda, stork, koi and tortoise prints. Think bomber jackets, sashaying skirts and exaggerated tops. Adore.

In case you haven’t come across Outhouse already, this Delhi-based accessories brand is the symbolism of fierce. Edgy to the T, each piece by the brand is eye-catching, ready-to-wear and made with intense detailing.
Their new ‘Imago’ collection inspired by the transformative process of a butterfly from a caterpillar is a flutter away from their usual golds and bronzes. We love the nose pins, and gorgeous hand pieces.

The charming collection for spring-summer 2017, is full of pastels, ginghams, cooling crotchets and to a degree even lace.
