The Grub Fest is coming to Mumbai! India’s biggest food festival with the best restaurants displaying their signature delicacies over some good music and hearty performances to keep you entertained is in town this weekend. Here, we spoke to some peeps from the festival and got the lowdown on the food stalls you should be most excited to hit up. What are you gonna eat first?

Kaavo

Gourmet hot dogs served with freshly made barbeque sauce, beer mustard {yes, we know – yum}, and homemade crisps are on the menu here. You can have the smokey dog hot dog in which the pork has been slow-smoked for around six hours, or a chicken jalapeno and orange cheddar one. The chef’s favourite, however, is the super dog, which is a smokey dog, with bacon bits, sweet onions and cheese in it. We’d say yes to that any time.

Fret not if your {like some of ours} choices have led you to be a vegetarian, you can still enjoy a bite of the veg dog, made of corn, cheese and grains.

Raw Pressery

Raw Pressery is one of the most beloved juice brands in town. We are definitely guilty of indulging in their delicious juices a little too often.

Raw Pressery is an effort to provide customers with drinks which are ‘All Good No Bad’. The juices are cold pressed and available in variants like Love – pomegranate, watermelon, chia seeds, mint – Shield – tangerine, carrot, ginger and Flush – apple, beet, carrot, ginger and lemon.

Saucery

Saucery is a range of gourmet international sauces, dips and spreads. Their products are freshly made and free of preservative, and hand crafted with the best ingredients. Some of their sauces and dips include sundried tomato pesto, classic pesto, mushroom pepper, aglio olio, and hummus and cranberry walnut dip.

Glee Chocolates

Glee chocolates make the freshest, most delectable pure Belgian hand-made chocolate sensations that have a heart that is distinctly Mumbai. Their chocolates are available with hazelnuts, pistachios, walnuts, almonds, fleur de sel pistachios and raisins. They also have croquantine or flaky wheat-flour wafers.

Brownsalt

Brownsalt bakery, which is based in Wadala, has sme of the best granola we’ve tasted in town. We love their rose and pistachio flavour and the banana bread flavour.

Seedy Smoothies

The smoothies are refreshing, tasty and really nutritious. They are created in a way to blend the fruits and freshly squeezed juice to retain the vitamins, minerals and fiber from the pulp. The smoothies also come in tiny bottles {250 ml} which we think is really easy to discard and drink from.

The smoothies in come six flavours: simply tropical, passion guava, strawberry & kiwi testers, mango fusion, celery blazer and super greens. Our favourite is the super green, it’s a mix of kale, apple, orange and kale and and we think is the right pick-me-up we need every morning.

The Belgian Waffle Co

This is one of our favourite spots in Mumbai to grab a savoury waffle. But we also recommend their sweet waffles – try the blueberry waffle and Belgian dark chocolate.

Snackible

This subscription snack box has a lot to prove: with claims to revolutionalise healthy snacking, and options ranging from a la carte to monthly, this is not a box to be messed with.

We love the cinnnamon waffle with honey twig, dark chocolate power bars, french vanilla and almond granola crunchers, roasted mexican chickpeas, cream and onion wholewheat thins. These weighed between 55 gram and 100 grams each.

Creme De La Creme

Living up to its name of providing the best, expect to see a variety of customised cakes, cupcakes, cake pops, tarts, truffles, swiss rolls in a variety of unique flavour combinations. Try their cupcakes: available in flavours such as velvet {red, blue, purple – you name it!}, chocolate, vanilla, brownie, cheesecake, mint, lemon, carrot, peanut butter, salted caramel and Oreo to name a few.

Gouri's Goodies

Artisanal Gouri, Health and Soul is a perfect combination of flavours and taste for health-conscious people like us. Energy bars, cereals and happy ladoos all made out of natural organic ingredients. They offer delicious energy bars {INR 60 a piece upwards} in flavours of oats and almonds, palm jaggery and honey, dates, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, orange rind and dark chocolate which has us salivating already.
