Ten-Second Takeaway

Bengaluru-based Kalmane Koffees has one outlet near BKC and we recommend you go there to get your filter kaapi fix or hold brainstorming session {because coffee}.

What Is It?

Kalmane is an offbeat coffee shop located in the commercial Phoenix Market catering to coffee lovers with their delectable blend of coffees, grown on their estate. Kalmane Estate grew its first coffee plant in 1879 – 130 years and four generations later the estate is renowned for its uniquely flavoured, fine Arabica coffee inter-cropped with black pepper. That’s two of our favourite things combined.

They’re famous for their Mysore Nuggets blend, which you can pick up for INR 340 for pack of 250g in case you like to dabble in a coffee making session. They serve filter kaapi starting at INR 80 and give us the option to choose from variants like blue grass, crema, mocha and gold. Their espresso based coffees start at INR 90 and cold coffee can be had starting at INR 100. With shakes and sundaes on the menu, we don’t think we’re stepping out for dessert after we’ve had our coffee.

So We’re Saying…

They’ve been in the business for more than a century and still remains one of the least advertised coffee brands. They’re easy on the pocket too so you don’t have to pay a bomb to wake up in the morning.
