Adventure Junkies, Ahoy! The Himalayan Club Turns 90 With This Amazing Event

Shalvi posted on 16th February

What Is It

The Himalayan Club turns 90 and is celebrating this with an event for climbing enthusiasts and adventure-lovers on February 18-19 at KC College in Churchgate. The best part? The event will also feature talks by globally celebrated mountaineers.

Who Is It For?

For anyone and everyone who is interested in mountaineering. The Himalayan Club will also be screening 200 Meters, the movie shot on an expedition organised by the club last year to attempt the first ascent on Shahi Kangri (6,934m) in the eastern Karakoram mountain ranges. The Wildest Dream: Conquest of Everest, an IMAX documentary featuring Leo Houlding and narrated by Liam Neeson will also be screened at the event. So those interested in this subject or are simply adventure junkies by nature must certainly be there for this two-day event.

Why Should I Go For It?

Because there will also be talks by Doug Scott {an English mountaineer known as one of the greatest alpine mountaineers of all time, and he will discuss adventure climbing practices of mountaineers}, Leo Houlding {a world-famous rock climber and free climber}, and Nungshi and Tashi Mallik {Indian mountaineers and holders of multiple Guinness records}. Go here to hear about experiences of award-winning mountaineers {those who've scaled Everest and other challenging ranges}.

Anything Else?

The event will be held on both days between 3pm to 8pm, and the entry fee for both is a total of just INR 200 which is inclusive of complimentary snacks {you better go for this}. Click here to register.
