What Makes It Awesome

What used to be a three-storey 5Spice is now competing with other Bandra bars for your Friday plans. Meet House of Tipsy, the suburb’s latest offering to Mumbai. With minimal decor and ample space up its sleeve, HoT will take you in with open arms. While the ground floor reminds us of an American diner, it’s the top floor that takes the cake. An indoor garden, an LED screen and a lavish bar make it one of our top five choices for a good old Bandra hang.

Not sticking to a particular cuisine, the chef has picked up the best of Indian, Mexican, European and Continental to give you a menu that will keep you busy. We’d say, go for Indian here, for that is their strength. The nalli mutton with ghee rice is something of an investment for hours of good mood. The Murgh Banno kebab is a delight too. Other than that, you can close your eyes and order cilantro prawns and cream of mushroom soup.

If you ever want to park your behind at a comfortable place; something that won’t hurt your pocket, HoT is where you should be. Whether you want to watch the rains with a nice drink in hand or want to have a full-blown party, it’s fully equipped. The cocktail menu explores vivid flavours – everything from beetroot to banana. Of course, there’s always the classics to stick to if you’re not feeling too adventurous. If you are not the one to stick to the regular regime, do try Stage Show (a whiskey-based rock star), Rise ‘n’ Shine (coffee-based punch) and Beautiful Stranger (a gin-based drink to keep things interesting). A special mention to their knockout cocktails – they come on handy when you don’t have much time on your hands.
