It was all of these concerns that actually prompted mum of two, Anjani to start her own business with her mum, Neelam, called I Love Cotton.
Now why cotton? Well, cotton's comfortable, non-irritating for a child's sensitive skin and of course, far less likely to clog up those landfills due to the fact that it's a natural fibre and biodegradable too. I Love Cotton is all about designing and creating wearable, comfortable and long-lasting clothes for our kids. Their clothes are designed to grow with the child - think adjustable waistbands and hems, and fabrics that can withstand some wash-and-wear. Anjani tells us a dress can be worn even as a tunic as the child grows and is versatile so it can be worn longer.
What I loved is that sometimes we can equate cotton with basic and boring, but I Love Cotton is all set to change that thought pattern. Their designs are interesting, fashionable and wearable. We spotted a pair of adorable Charlotte jodhpur pants for girls, a button back dress for girls, and a Maison kurta for boys.
We hear the brand is planning to evolve over time so that it's not just basics or daily wear, but also occasion wear for the little ones that can be bought here. They're all about changing the idea that cotton can't be stylish or party-friendly and we're excited to see what they come up with. Expect to shell out between INR 1200 to INR 2400 for their outfits.
