Joseph Bar is a super cute, super local bar in Goa which you will love if you’re looking for something away from the usual tourist trap places.

Sip and Sway

Most of us remain very limited with our choices when we visit Goa – Infanteria, Curlies, Brittos, Titos. What if we tell you there are more beautiful and lively spots that have completely missed your gaze? In the midst of a Latin part of Panjim, the capital of Goa, lies an area named Fountainhas, and in the heart of that a small bar named Joseph.

A local secret, Goans go here to this tiny joint to wash down fresh draft beer and chat with one of the most well-known servers, Gundu. Gundu is in fact so popular that there’s a Facebook page dedicated to him, and not the bar. Surreal, right?

Joseph Bar has only about 10-15 seats, with a few tables and chairs spilling out on to the road. It isn’t known for its food, at most it has 2-3 snacks available – beef or chicken samosas, fish cutlet or an egg or chicken dish. If you’re visiting during the summer months, you can also try a pint of urrack, a milder version of feni.

So, We're Saying...

Take up one of the outside tables, order a chill draft beer and flip the pages of your book while life continues around you in this quiet bylane of Goa.
