Running a marathon is a serious challenge, one that requires months of preparation, constant training, and the good old will power. If you just woke up and thought, I am going run a marathon; it’s not gonna happen bruh!

Well, you may have missed out on the marathon last week, but you can start working on your fitness right away. What you need though is someone who will show you exactly what to do. Meet Juhi Godambe – a personal style blogger who like many, took up the challenge to run a half  marathon and has put in a lot of work to achieve the fitness level required for the run. Here are 5 things that Juhi recommends doing in order to nail the challenge:

Partner Up

The age old saying goes, if you want to go fast, go alone but if you want to go far, go together and we are not going to disagree with that. Partnering up will make you serious about the process, help you pin point your shortcomings and eventually share your success.

Set Short-Term Goals

It’s important to recognize that Rome wasn’t built in a day. So, break up your larger goal into short-term and practical ones that you can actually fulfill and then build on them.

Focus on the basics

Warming up and cooling down is essential to your prep. This should be your top thing to do for any kind of physical exercise, and not just running. Stretching prepares your muscles for the hard physical labour that’s in offing.

Keep A Tab On Your Performance

Allow technology to keep a tab on how far you’ve come. It will help you focus on things on which you need to work on. The Nike+ Run Club app is one such tool that gets instant result on the performance. Download the app here.

The Sense Of Achievement Is Incredible

Always keep your end goal in mind, especially when you feel like giving up completely. Trust us, that one single moment of achieving your goal will make all the sweat and hard work worth the entire effort. After all champions are made off the field!

Does 2017 feels like your kind of year, health-wise? It will, once you start following these steps. Check out Juhi’s Instagram here to keep up to date with all the latest training routines.
