Juhi Godambe Shows You How To Successfully Complete A Half Marathon

Abhijeet posted on 10 January

Running a marathon is a serious challenge, one that requires months of preparation, constant training, and the good old will power. If you just woke up and thought, I am going run a marathon; it’s not gonna happen bruh!

Well, you may have missed out on the marathon last week, but you can start working on your fitness right away. What you need though is someone who will show you exactly what to do. Meet Juhi Godambe – a personal style blogger who like many, took up the challenge to run a half  marathon and has put in a lot of work to achieve the fitness level required for the run. Here are 5 things that Juhi recommends doing in order to nail the challenge:

Partner Up

SCM is less than a month away! Aiming to do a 15k run this week 💪🏼 Lets do this! #KeepTraining #NRC #NRCMumbai @nike @nikerunning ❤️🏃🏻‍♀️

The age old saying goes, if you want to go fast, go alone but if you want to go far, go together and we are not going to disagree with that. Partnering up will make you serious about the process, help you pin point your shortcomings and eventually share your success.

Set Short-Term Goals

We did it!!! 12KM run this morning. Its so simple honestly, set a goal and just do it! So proud of Sammy, its his second time running a long distance ever and he managed to do this with me! So grateful for today morning, beautiful start! 🙌🏼 #GettingThere (Please ignore my invisible guns 😋🙈)

It’s important to recognize that Rome wasn’t built in a day. So, break up your larger goal into short-term and practical ones that you can actually fulfill and then build on them.

Focus on the basics

You're stronger when you have someone to achieve your goals with you! Cooling off with @marathonermuthu 😁 #GoodMorning #NRC #NRCMumbai

Warming up and cooling down is essential to your prep. This should be your top thing to do for any kind of physical exercise, and not just running. Stretching prepares your muscles for the hard physical labour that’s in offing.

Keep A Tab On Your Performance

A glorious run with @nikerunning this morning ❤️ It was extremely special because todays run was dedicated to 26/11. We will never forget. Starting from Marine Drive todays route took us through all the affected buildings to pay tribute. So proud to be doing this with NRC. ❤️ More on Snapchat. #NRC

The Sense Of Achievement Is Incredible

I did it guys! What an experience!!! Mumbai is undoubtedly the most beautiful city all because of its people and not just its exterior beauty! Cannot begin to explain how amazing it felt when the crowd cheered us while we ran ❤️also a salute to Mumbai police for working so hard to keep thousands of us safe! So grateful! SCMM was one of the best experiences I've ever had, never imagined I would do a 21KM without stopping even once and sprinting my way to the finish line! Thank you @nikerunning for making this happen! 💪🏼🏃🏻‍♀️Once a runner girl, always a runner girl!
