Kommune, a community that binds poetry, storytelling and everything in between together, has announced their spoken word festival, ‘Spoken’. It’s set to take place on October 28 and October 29 at Jio Gardens and you can expect poets, artists, and interesting people up on a stage from around the world sharing their stories.
Kalki Koechlin, Piyush Mishra & Others To Perform At Mumbai's First Spoken Word Fest
What Is It?
Who Is It For?
Do you enjoy story-telling, or listening about people’s lives? ‘Spoken’ is for you then. Taking it up a notch higher, Kommune is taking a leap by putting up a festival of two days dedicated to spoken word, a first of its kind in Mumbai.
Shamir Reuben, head of content curation at Kommune tells us the idea is simple – for people to come, and discover things from little corners of their own city or around the globe.
The festival will be seeing artists from across the fields, and so far they have announced actor Kalki Koechlin, comedian Kautuk Srivastava, actor and filmmaker {and an all-rounder} Piyush Mishra, TV Anchor Gaurav Kapur, and many more inspiring artists who will enthrall the audience with their nuanced spoken word.
Why Should I Go?
To get inspired, and engage with the burgeoning spoken word community from around the globe. The festival will have art, music, poetry, food and everything else that you may expect out of a well-curated festival.
In fact, if you’d like to get up on the stage and perform, registrations are open now. One can also expect home chefs who will conjure up delicious dishes, wine, beer and art installations at the festival arena.
Anything Else?
Spoken will be adding more exciting artists to the lineup in the coming days, so keep an eye out for them. The tickets are live now, and you can book them here.
