A panel event tonight will explore the connections between Mumbai as a city and how it came to be such an iseal petri dish for Indian and global cinema.
For the film enthusiasts who just can’t wait for MAMI to come around. The panelists sound like it’ll make for a very interesting conversation – Anupama Chopra, film reviewer and the festival director for MAMI, Ashim Ahluwalia, the film director and screenwriter, Mustansir Dalvi, a professor at the JJ College of Architecture, will be in conversation with Udita Jhunjhunwala, film critic and journalist.
Because of the quality of the panelists, as well as the likelihood that they will touch upon some contemporary issues such as the current tussle between Indo-Pak politics and artists working in the film industry. It will also be a great chance to get a sneak peek as to how MAMI is pulled off every year.
It’ll be happening at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, one of our favourite venues in the city. After you’re done, don’t forget to check out where you can head to to watch some free movies.
