2018 surely has been quite a roller-coaster year for all of us and if nothing else, it has sped by so quickly that it almost feels like January was yesterday. In all the chaos that has entailed, we did stumble upon some things so unique that we had to share them with all of you. Here's a list that we have compiled of our most unique finds this year; read on.

Pine Hut at Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Borivali

Nestled cosily and secretly enroute the lion safari trail at Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Borivali, the Pine Hut is an absolute architectural wonder situated in the middle of the jungle drowning out the sounds of the city. The best part? You can rent this piece of art for an overnight stay and enjoy the wilderness of SNGP at its best. There are ample parking facilities available and personal vehicles can be taken in till the accommodation areas. While you're there, don't forget to check out the events like treks and star-gazing sessions by contacting the Nature Information Centre (NIC).

Cafe Arpan, Juhu

Started by an NGO (Yash Charitable Trust), Cafe Arpan is the second restaurant in the city to be run by differently abled people. Breaking stereotypes in a unique fashion, this cafe has a work staff of 13 differently abled. The décor is warm yet quirky and has spartan interiors, focusing on the primary initiative of offering comfort food in a loving environment.

Mirchi Komachi

Mirchi Komachi is an online clothing brand that’s based in the city and is doing its bit to encourage women to enjoy traditional Indian fabrics and handicrafts every day, in non-traditional outfits, mainly upping the bar in Indian street style. The snazzy collection ranges from biker jackets for women, bicolour dresses, blazer jackets in multiple prints and fabrics, hooded parka jackets, tunics and tops, kurtis with messages, military jackets to shirt dresses in Chanderi and gorgeous skirts.

Essajees Home Decor, Colaba

 Essajees, located in the lane diagonally opposite Taj Mahal hotel is one of Mumbai’s oldest vintage home décor stores (we’re talking about a 100-year-old store here). As soon as you take a few steps in, you’ll see vintage crystal chandeliers, figurines, Bone China, tikri work, candle stands, table lamps, woodwork, brass and metal art and figurines, stone carvings, and so much more. 

LBB recommends: A visit the store, if not to purchase {there are items for as low as INR 500} but to just marvel at the splendour of the store and all things vintage.

AquaCentric Therapy, Andheri

AquaCentric is a holistic rehab centre that uses the power of water to treat orthopaedic, neurology, paediatric, and even women's health problems. Spread over a whopping 7,000 square feet in Andheri, AquaCentric houses three temperature controlled indoor pools underwater exercise equipment like a treadmill {yes, you can do your daily cardio under water now!}, resistance jets, and more. In addition to this, they also have a medical gym. The centre provides specially curated therapies and end-to-end rehabilitation and caters to each individual's needs which will help in the betterment of their muscle strength and body balance.

The A, Lower Parel

The A is a business and leisure club for its young leaders and influencers, sprawling over 40,000 sq feet in Lower Parel’s One India Bulls Centre. The A has started a culture, known to be a private members’ club with modern workspaces, meeting rooms, a virtual reality zone, fitness and wellness facilities and even interesting dining options which include a third-wave brew lab and the Speakeasy Bar.

LBB recommends: Their virtual reality zone called DICE allows members to experience artificial intelligence, mixed reality and immersive gaming through multi-touch interactive coffee tables that allow for 3D rendering of work data.
