Reports have confirmed that Mumbai is set to receive extreme rainfall starting today.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an advisory for the heavy rains that will hit the city starting today. The weather is reportedly going to be extreme till Tuesday, June 12.

As reported by Hindustan Times here, the advisory released by the IMD reads: “Active to vigorous monsoon conditions are likely to prevail, leading to persistent very heavy rainfall along the west coast, especially between June 10 and 11. In view of intense rainfall forecast, people are advised to abstain from outdoor activities as much as possible during the period and also watch for weather updates from Regional Meteorological Centre, Mumbai.”

The city will receive over 64.5mm of rainfall, so Mumbaikars are advised to proceed with caution. Try and stay indoors and take necessary measures to assure your safety.
