Ten-Second Takeaway

Pokémon Go obsession has come to India. While the game has so far been limited to the perks of being stuck in traffic {the Pokémon Go game registers traffic as walking} and confused parents wondering why their children are so enthusiastic about visiting temples, things have just been taken to the next level: the first-ever Pokewalk will be held in Mumbai this month.

Catch Em All

We’re equally excited and nervous about this two hour-long walk, which is happening amid rumours that Pokémon Go will be launched in Asia in the next two days. Hopefully the dangers of walking while keeping both eyes trained on our smartphone will be taken into consideration. We are also happy for the people along the route who will be treated to a review of the zombie apocalypse when a horde of smartphone-toting gamers pass by.

The walk starts outside the Burger King outside Churchgate station at 5pm, and heads towards Marine Drive. According to the Facebook event page, participants will also be activating Lure Modules at Pokestops to lure more Pokémon.

Need To Carry

A smartphone with a somewhat reliable internet connection, a fully charged powerbank, an umbrella and a bottle of water.

The walk will be held on Saturday, July 23, from 5pm to 7pm. Check out the Facebook event page here.
