What Makes It Awesome?

Oheka is a new rooftop poolside restaurant bar. Divided into two sections, indoors and the outdoor where the pool is. The decor is very elegant and minimal. The service is good.

Coming to the food,
-We tried two soups, the Cauliflower Parmesan With Charred Corn and a Cold Watermelon Rasam. Both of them were outstanding. Loved the watermelon rasam. Sweet and spicy. So good. Must try. But I loved the cauliflower one even more. The smooth, creamy texture, with charred flavorful spiced sweet corns.. what a combination. So darn good.

-We tried two salads, the Watermelon Feta and the Panzanella. Again, both were delicious. The Watermelon Feta was well balanced with all the elements. Loved the crunchy candied walnuts, arugula, salty creamy feta and juicy sweet watermelon will balsamic dressings. The Panzanella was with Tomatoes, bocconcini, croutons, roasted almonds, lettuce and balsamic dressing. I hoped for a bloody Mary dressing as mentioned in the menu. But nevertheless, it was delicious.

-Tried two appetizers. Tandoori Mushrooms and Soy Chaap. Both were decent. They definitely could have been better in terms of seasoning and execution.

For mains, I tried,
-The Penne Aglio E Olio which was excellent. Loved it. The flavours were great and well balanced. Perfectly cooked.
-The Khaosuey was decent. It tasted more like Thai curry instead of Khao Suey.

-The Masala Chai Dessert was delicious. The Ice cream was perfect. The Honeycomb was Chewy, wish it was brittle. But the combination of flavours and textures were great.

The cocktails are good.

Overall was a hit and miss for me. A little work on the Indian dishes can make it perfect. I would return for the cauliflower soup.

Ps. These are tasting portions.
