What Makes It Awesome

Diu may not be the ideal place for a weekend getaway, but add in an extra day on either side of the weekend and a bit of planning and you've got yourself a truly magical time. Laid-back, relaxed and away from the hype, Diu is the beachside vacation you didn't know you needed. Within walking distance of the gorgeous (and tranquil) Kodidhar Beach, The Palms Hotel offers a cozy stay and a great base to explore all the island has to offer.

Nestled in the heart of greenery, this mid-range hotel has 21 rooms in different budget options: economy, standard and deluxe. But what we have our eyes on, is their furnished tents with a sea view and pool view for those of you who love glamping. If you're looking for a more spacious room, the deluxe room is the way to go - it can accommodate up to 5 people. The rooms also come with a sit-out so, unwind with a cup of tea or cold beer in the evenings.

Clean, simple and furnished with necessities, this will be a guaranteed comfortable stay. The restaurant overlooks the beach, and is a laid-back place serving simple, delicious coastal cuisine and is known for its seafood dishes. Seasonal food is the norm here, so do ask what's fresh that day! The restaurant and bar are open till 10:30 PM every evening and breakfast is served at 8:00 AM.

The sea-facing tents come recommended and we think that waking up to views of a sunrise over the gently crashing waves with a cup of tea in hand is hard to beat!

Prices start at INR 2,450 for the economy double room and AC tents start at INR 4,550. We suggest calling ahead, as tariffs vary as per the season.

What Could Be Better

The tents, while fully furnished are on the pricier side.

Pro-Tip

Popular Nagoa beach is within walking distance. The water here is tranquil and good for swimming. Keep an eye out for the unique palms - you won't see this type of vegetation anywhere else in the country!
