All of us have some time in our life wondered "How amazing it would be to wake up in a tent and sip a hot cup of tea watching the sunrise over a lake?" But then you realise it is practically not possible for us average people to own a tent, carry it to a mesmerizing location, set it up and enjoy the above situation. So what if there was a tour company that did exactly what you thought? "Trekandtrails" is a Mumbai based travel company that organises camps at various locations in Maharastra.
We recently visited Secret camping in Igatpuri organised by trekandtrails. The drive/ride to Igatpuri is worth. The campsite is located near a lake. You can reach the location by 3 in the evening. After tents have been allocated you are free to do water sports that include kayaking, rafting and swimming. You are provided with life jackets just in case.
Later in evening tea and snacks are served. Till dinner, you have free time to rest up or chill near the lake. If required a small trek can be arranged. The dinner is a simple home-cooked meal(both veg and non-veg depending on your choice). The food is delicious and has a local flavour to it. The camp leader also helps you stargaze. Later at night you can relax with a campfire, listen to stories and music. Later you can sleep in your tents.
Morning is all about watching the sunrise over the lake and enjoying tea. There is nothing more cheerful than this. After you freshen up you can play games like archery, rifle shooting at the campsite. You can also go for a swim in the lake.
What we liked was:
