Chembur is now home to a cosy cafe by a flyover – say hi to Flip Bar & Kitchen. They serve sheesha and pizza with the same amount of enthusiasm.

What Is It?

A casual diner besides the Trombay flyover, Flip is a small establishment flanked by small shops. The location is not much to look at but it’s convenient to reach to.

With a dearth of good-food eateries in the area, we set out to find out if Flip was the one. The simple decor enchants with bouts of colour thrown in randomly, which disrupt the monotony of grey and brown. The ground floor is a diner and the first floor, a sheesha bar. They’re currently waiting for their liquor license, till then, you can call it a kitchen.

Chow Down

The cuisine is a mix of Continental, Chinese and Mexican and strangely, Korean, Peruvian, Ethiopian – all in their menu.

We found the portions to be small – their fire chicken with cheese came with a hefty price tag and very little cheese at INR 290. Although, it was done well.

We moved on to hasselback chicken {INR 390}, where chicken breast was stuffed with spinach, feta and paprika. They also have a range of mains that include dishes like pollo alla creola {INR 360}, chicken paprika, pizzas and pastas for you to forget a bad day with.

Sip On

Since the alcohol won’t be served till they acquire a license, we settled in with their Nutella shake {INR 200}. Their donut and coffee milkshake intrigued us and the idea of coconut hot chocolate comforted us.

So, We're Saying...

If you live in Chembur and have prayed for a cool diner, your wish has been granted.
