Those dreamy rooms we 'pin it' on Pinterest. Those pretty Airbnb living rooms we heart on the 'gram. Or those cutesy or kawaii cosy corners we're obsessed with from those Korean dramas. While some of us just screenshot these images, other decor junkies like me go all out to make our rooms like those images. And that obsession sometimes leads you to the most stunning decor stores which transport you to a wonderland.
Spoiler alert: cuteness overload!
For me, Design Station was surely one of them. Started by Sakshi Babbar Paul in 2017, this e-store is legit a Disneyland for those who love hoarding quirky knick-knacks, home accessories and cutesy stuff in general. Apart from a keen interest in textile designing and the retail industry, Paul's main vision was to connect local handmade products to end-users like you and me. Being a one-woman-army, she started small and then kept on expanding the collection. It started with tiny knick-knacks like pom-poms, fairy lights and went on to include more skillful techniques like embroidery, weaving and printed decor items. As she sourced most of the fabrics from her family businesses' godown (which was otherwise a waste), you'll find that most the collection is sustainable and upcycled. Think #TrashToTreasure. And fast forward to today, she has an entire community of women handcrafting a range of pretty home decor for us!
Now, what's in for me, you ask? Well, a lot! So, let's deep dive straight into that. Their collection includes an array of decor essentials including cushions, bedcovers, curtains, table linen, planters, lamps and lightings, dhurries, fabrics and other home accents. Oh, and they've got a section for kids as well. Expect lots of bright hues, tassels and pom-poms, quirky prints and #BohoVibes. I particularly fell in love with their cushion covers and planters.
And it's not heavy on the pocket either! Their collection starts at INR 350 and upwards.
While their website has the entire collection, you can also WhatsApp them on +918882129466.
