What Is It?

Check out home chef Pia Promina’s dining experience as she whips up some authentic Sri Lankan dishes for local diners.

Who Is It For?

For those who love trying new cuisines, and for those who are still wistfully thinking of their Sri Lanka trip. Pia Promina, the brains behind the legendary Kewpies of Kolkata, visited Sri Lanka recently where she spent most of her time learning about the local cuisine from home chefs in Colombo and Kandy. Now, this home dining experience has been curated from what she learnt.

Why Should I Go For It?

Because it sounds delicious. Attendees can expect a meal that includes a welcome drink, Pia’s Magic {the chef’s very own coconut-based mocktail concoction}, egg hoppers with sambol {crepes with steamed eggs}, sodhi {a vegetarian dish with potatoes cooked in coconut milk}, wambatu baduma {devilled brinjal}, pork curry, Lankan chilli garlic crab, chicken Jaffna curry, and for dessert, wattapalam, a dessert resembling caramel custard with a special jaggery.

Anything Else?

Promina is one of our favourite home chefs, and we’ve written about her chocolate eclairs before {have you tried them yet?}. Besides this, her culinary history speaks for itself, so we have very high hopes for this meal.
