What Is It?

An art exhibit called the Suitcase Museum by inimitable photographer, Dayanita Singh is being held at the Bhau Daji Lad Museum, displaying 44 of her framed photographs from previous exhibit Stories of Chance, and their connection with two pieces of luggage. Through the Suitcase Museum, she is trying to showcase photography not just through the literal photographs, but also through other forms such as the book and museum. It has been curated by Tasneem Zakaria Mehta.

Who Is It For?

Shutterbugs who have heard of Dayanita Singh, and would like to see her work up close shouldn’t miss the exhibit which is running through all of December and even January. Even newbies who love art, the book in all its forms, and exploring new concepts would thoroughly enjoy this rather contemporary exhibit.

Why Should I Go?

The photographs from Dayanita’s much-acclaimed Museum of Chance which will be displayed here are a treat to the eyes. What else is intriguing about this is that the exhibit also challenges and interrogates Dr Bhau Daji Lad, the museum in itself, which has been an inspiration to her in the nascent days of her career.

If you’re still unsure, go here just to be inspired by the museum in itself, but we can’t help but reiterate that Dr Bhau Daji Lad Museum is downright gorgeous. {Read our account of it here.}
