What Makes It Awesome

This article is a perfect guide to choosing your coffee.

So essentially, there are two types of coffee beans - Arabica and Robusta.
Arabica is mildly aromatic and has naturally less caffeine than Robusta. Robusta is beta and has twice the define of arabica. You can even pick your roast to be light, medium or dark. You can also opt for arabica-robusta blends. Some also offer chicory mixed with arabica/robusta which is not coffee but an alternative ingredient to make the brew light.

The different types of gourmet coffees available are mint, vanilla, chocolate, caramel, cinnamon, pumpkin spice etc

The most popular brewing methods are French press, drip, espresso, moka pot, aeropress, filter coffee etc. All these brewing techniques require different amount of time, and the size if the grind.

A French press was developed in Italy in 1929. It requires a coarse grind and takes 5-10 minutes to brew.

Drip was developed in 1903 in Germany. It has a rich and refreshing flavour. It takes around 4 minutes to brew and requires a medium grind.

Espresso is a sharp and fine brew for an instant dose of caffeine. It requires a fine grind and takes less than 2 minutes to brew. It was developed in Italy in 1884.

Aeropress was developed in USA in 2005. Erase smooth and clean and takes about 2-5 minutes to brew and requires a fine grind.

A moka pot is traditional to Italian coffee, developed in 1884. It is made of aluminium to improve the flavour. It is strong and sharp, requires medium grind and takes 4-5 minutes to brew.

The Indian filter coffee also known as the Mysore filter coffee is a native technique to India. It is a strong brew made from fine grind and takes about 10 minutes to brew.

While all types of coffee taste the best and there is no best way to brew a coffee, my personal favourite is drip coffee made with Arabica 60% robusta 40% coffee.

You can pick your coffee and brewing techniques based on your taste, availability in your region, your budget and the time you can spend on making a cup of coffee.

While there's much more to know about coffees, with this article, you know more than what most people know. πŸ˜‰ Cheers to our cuppa coffee! β˜•
