There’s A New Tea Bar In Mumbai That Serves Chai Puchkas

What Is It?

The Kettlery, is the newest entrant to the swishest pincode in town. Located in Juhu, within Horizon Hotel, the interiors are full of glass, giving it a spacious look that Mumbai craves for. You’ll find exotic blends that have been lovingly curated by chef Vicky Ratnani, like the London Fog, that’s a milky afternoon tea that reminds you of the weather in London or The Mudslide, that’s a cold masala chai, made with a blend of exotic spices.

What Cha You Saying?

Their exhaustive menu is one for the books, with various delicacies {75 types of teas} from different parts of the world that can be paired with their wide range of full leaf teas.

They have a range of specialty teas, like Grace of Monaco, that’s an elegant bud white and green tea blend with vanilla and safflower {INR 350 for a small pot} or the Ayurvedic Bliss, that’s a caffeine-free herbal blend of mint, balm, lemongrass and peppercorn, meant to heal.

Their signature hot range has a mix of herbal and black teas, with an added oomph that is sure to revive you from any stupor {INR 250 for a small pot, INR 320 for a large pot}. They also serve single origin teas, wellness teas, detoxed ice teas and ‘other than teas’ that includes coconut water, fresh fruit juices, lassis and smoothies.

Chow Down

One dish that caught our eye was the chai puchka, which are pani puris are served artistically in individual scoops with all the customary fillings and a teapot full of peppermint tea {INR 200}.

Their small plates section consists of some exotic Indian delicacies with tea pairings, like Thecha Mayo, that’s bajra cakes served with Kolhapuri thecha dip and paired with a tea.

Another interesting thing on their menu was the Rainbow Salad section, that boasts of rainbow colours in the salads you eat and what each colour represents in terms of goodness and health {INR 250 – INR 300}. Apart from this, they serve soups, sandwiches, pasta, food bowls, tea cakes and desserts like tiramisu, blueberry blossoms and much more.

It’s got a lot to offer and there’s so much to experiment with, that we’d definitely recommend a visit. After all, where else can you say that you’ve tried chai puchkas?
