What Makes It Awesome?

It's hot outside and Mohammad Ali Road is always crowded, hot, humid, overhyped and gets unhygienic. Jyran-Sofitel has launched their Mohammad Ali Food Festival till 6th June and is total food heaven. We had literal food porn here. Firstly the interiors and ambience of this place is so lavish and lit and makes you feel a total royal. Their service is also a 5 star as the servers, Bartender and Chef-Vijay Singh kept visiting our tables and made sure we feel comfortable and explained the complex process of their food making. Their style of cooking, marinating and prepping is completely complex, hectic and time taking with care given to each and every ingredient and making sure there is Flavour Flavour Flavour. We were awestruck with the detailing in their food and no doubt the place is a total 5 star. The food here has to be of the best non-veg food we have had in Mumbai this year. We started with Paaya soup which was creamy, yummy and the paya was super tender with the soft bone marrow easy to suck on too. Then we were served their starters - which comprised of tandoori king prawn, fried prawns, mutton kebab, tandoori chicken, and tandoori fish. Every starter dish got better and better in taste and flavour. We ordered their signature cocktails 'Love with a pinch of Salt' which was a Gin based peach flavoured fruit drink and a whiskey sour-with-wine drink. Their mains had an amazing Mutton based dishes which were finger licking good. Their mutton in the gravy was my favourite, followed by Raan dish and the mutton kheema, their chicken main was also good as so were their bread and daal (which was marinated for 24 hours and made without Onion and garlic) One of their very different bread we tried was the chicken pickled naan - out of the world. Dessert - have no words to describe how good they were, we tried their Malpua, Rabdi and Phirni and they were infused with saffron and dry fruits and were perfectly sweet and so good to taste. We ended our food trail by kissing the chef's hands for real and thanking the entire team for such a wonderful service, hospitality, food and the experience in itself.
