Tick That List: Travel Guide To Panchgani

Most of us have loved the thought of exploring areas around us, and Panchgani has always been on the top 5 things to do around the city. A picturesque hill station in the Satara district of Maharashtra, it has a killer background with a mountain view and a spectacular view of the Western coastal plains. You can go on long walks, treks, or just simply relax here, exploring the natural beauty. Here's a fun list of things to do when you're here.

Things To See

There are a lot of famous points like the Table Land, which is also one of the most recommended places in the town. Covered by hills, Table Land is supposed to be Asia's second largest mountain plateau that is nearly 1,400 metres above sea level. Other places include the Rajpuri caves where legend stays that the Pandavas took shelter here during their exile period. The caves are surrounded by lakes on all sides, and there is a shrine dedicated to Lord Karthikeya, the brother of Lord Ganesh. People also come to Panchgani to visit the Pratapgarh Fort, which is famous in Maratha history.

    Where To Eat

Of course, Panchgani's close proximity to Mahabeleshwar makes it an attractive tourist spot. Much like Coonoor and Ooty in Tamil Nadu, Panchgani and Mahabeleshwar are sister towns and can be reached in half an hour. Midpoint don't forget to stop at the Mapro Farms to have a king-sized strawberry ice cream (in high demand in the winter season!) We also recommend the veg club sandwich, which is an absolute winner.

Apart from this, the little town has eateries like Rustom's Strawberry Inn which is famous for berry pulao, chicken farcha, caramel custard or strawberries and cream. You could also visit Rainforest, Food Ville or Kamats (if you like good vegetarian options).
