Think about Alibaug, and what pops up almost effortlessly are those clean virgin beaches, mouthwatering seafood and historic forts. However, this time we decided to tap into the luxurious side of Alibaug. And, the result was a gorgeous Balinese inspired private villa, Un Bel Di with an infinity pool.

Un Bel Di is located near Awas beach; almost like a 10-minute walking distance between the villa and the beach. To reach Alibaug, you can drive via the Mumbai-Pune Highway towards Chinchpada in Pen and then take NH166A. This route cuts down your travel time at least by an hour, and you can reach the place in three and a half hour.

Un Bel Di is a stunning villa that is hidden from the city lights, surrounded by lush greenery, the Sahyadris at a distance and looks straight out of a postcard from Indonesia. The property is huge and we love how they maintain the Balinese influence through the artistic wooden architecture, the antique furniture and vintage artifacts like a statue of Buddha in the front porch, artsy paintings on the wall, a hammock and a swing in the garden and colourful exotic potted plants at every nook and corner. We hear that the front deck opens up to an exquisite infinity pool, borderline with quaint, well-manicured shrubs. Take a dip, enjoy a glass of wine or two and sit down with your favourite book. The villa has two spacious rooms with cosy poster beds, full length windows and wardrobes. The caretaker stays on the property and will clean the rooms daily. You can also ask him to cook something light for breakfast and snacks. We suggest you eat your lunch and dinner somewhere outside. Try the local cuisine out there. The fish thali and spicy prawns fry at Sanman Restaurant on Israel Lane is our favourite.
