Ten-Second Takeaway

Saag Meat is a one-of-a-kind theatrical performance of notable Hindi writer Bhisham Sahni’s story ‘Saag Meat’. What makes it interesting? The actor and director, Seema Pahwa, sits with a cooking pot and makes a real saag meat while acting out the story.

Who Is It For?

Who like to experience different things, and would thoroughly enjoy a few hours of heartful acting, and dinner. Dinner? Well yes. At the end of the play, you are served a portion of saag meat, and vegetarians get vegetarian biryani.

Why Should I Go?

How often can you say that you went for a play and got awesome biryani to gorge on at the end?
Besides the food {sorry, we often get distracted}, the play is really exceptional, and the novelty is not just in the idea, but the execution.

The play was part of the closing show at NCPA’s Centrestage festival in 2014. In this, the actress while sitting and stirring the contents of the cooking pot, reminisces a former cook who used to make the saag for her.
