Ah, the dilemma the city faces – is West overrated? Is East an underdog? Are both awesome? To answer a part of it, let’s take a look at what both sides have to offer. And the next time you debate the topic, keep this handy.

West's Poha In A Samosa v/s East's Momos Like You've Never Had Them Before

Samrat stall outside Santacruz Station’s West serves poha in a samosa. Called ‘patti samosa’ here’s how it’s made: the poha is made using onions, cabbage and poha. Once the poha is ready, it is used as a filling for the samosa, which is eventually deep-fried.

On the other side of Santacruz, Dumpling Khang serves momo burgers, chocolate momos and thukpas that provide your soul the soup it needs. The prices here are affordable and when you want to cross over to the sinful side of things, order their dark chocolate momos.

East's Oldest Yoga Institute V/S West's Celebrity Yoga Training

The Yoga Institute in Santacruz East has a lush green one-acre campus in a quaint colony. If you’re looking to sign up for yoga classes that are easy on the pocket and teachers that hold your hand through your fitness journey, TYI is a good option.

While East may be all about serene surroundings, West has a faster life. If you do not have time to spare, may we suggest Payal Gidwani’s Cosmic Fusion? She has trained Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan in the past. Check it out here.

New World Of Sports Clubs {NWOS} is an organisation in Santacruz West that has an open-for-all poker club. All you need is your ID card and address proof to sign up. The lifetime membership is priced at INR 900. They have daily games starting at INR 10,000 and have three to four active tables every day. While West may be about leaisurely time, East likes to kick butt with sports. It has a no-membershio needed tennis court which you  may want to check out here.

West's Backpackers Hostel v/s East's Bollywood Suite

We told you about Basti, the newest kid on the hostel map in the city here. Located in Santacruz West, it boasts of quirky decor and a common kitchen with a fridge, stove, a computer area for people to use and more. East, well, East has a Bollywood-themed suite that you can use to transport yourself back to the 60s. You should check that out here.
