Do you follow Humans of Bombay? If you are, you must have come across Zaaria Patni. This remarkable story of a woman who got married early, was abused by her husband and who after a long court battle, won the custody of her child. Zaaria’s story is truly an inspiration for everyone who never had the courage to say enough.

Her #FitToFight Story

Zaaria Patni got married at a young age of 19 and unfortunately soon after that her dream turned into a nightmare. Mental, physical and emotional torture ensued which continued for over nine months. Even while Zaaria was pregnant, her husband continued the cycle of violence.

Coming back to her hometown, she took the decision to separate from her husband as she didn’t want her son to go through the same pain. This started a six year long court battle which she finally won and got the custody of her child. Read more about Zaaria’s #FitToFight story here.

You’ve Gotta See Her Work

Zaaria always loved taking pictures. What started as a hobby has become her career. It wasn’t easy as being a mother of a ten year old is a full time job too, but her passion and unwillingness to give up gave her the strength to overcome all challenges. She started working with MISU professionally and at that time a lot of big brands started approaching her. Today, Zaaria is a successful photographer and a mother. She also teaches arts to kids. Zaaria has shot for Vero Moda, ONLY, Gap, Gaurav Gupta and Madison Prerto.
