The Place - Touche The Sizzler
One of the most legendary restaurants in Pune (open since 1971), The Place is like the godfather of sizzler eateries in the city. From steak to seafood – and everything in-between (pork, poultry, veg, paneer) – they serve around 40 varieties of sizzlers on their menu. One thing you won’t find at other sizzler eateries is their Goan-specialty sizzlers: cafreal and balchao with the protein of your choice. One of our favourites is their chicken piri-piri shashlik for INR 400, and another is their pork chops with BBQ sauce for INR 500. Almost all the sizzlers are served with rice, loaded with thick-cut potato chips and sauteed veggies. We also recommend their home-made ice creams (anjeer-walnut/apricot/mango) for dessert.
Zamu's Place
Zamu’s sizzlers has been an iconic food joint for decades now. They are known for their loaded meat sizzlers that can feed two people easily and the best part? You can also curate your own sizzler .Their signature sizzlers such as special mix grill which is literally a combination of all sorts of meats, including pork and mutton, come for INR 800 and steak special sizzler which is a dish with an overdose of ham and cheese, sandwiched between beef steaks comes for INR 650. If you aren't into sizzlers, Zamu's also has a great menu of starters and Parsi food. Don't forget to try their garlic chicken or garlic prawn starting at INR 280. The dip that you get with these starters is just divine.
Lanterns
Lanterns in Model Colony is a quaint little eatery that grew popular because of their pocket-friendly prices and value-for-money sizzlers. Though their menu now features Indian, Italian, and Oriental dishes as well, we hear their sizzlers are still the go-to for many regular customers. Each sizzler is served with potato wedges/french fries, and rice/noodles, but for an extra INR 100, you can add a sunny-side-up or extra paneer, along with a complimentary soft drink. We hear their signature ‘Lanterns special sizzler’ is a huge hit, as is the paneer chilli sizzler. They also have seafood sizzlers with tandoori pomfret and fish tikka, which we think sound quite appetising. Don’t forget to order their sizzling brownie for dessert.
Yana
With three outlets across Pune, namely at FC Road, Kalyani Nagar, and MG Road – Puneites love a good Yana sizzler. Their menu comprises a mix of Chinese and Continental, and they serve veg, chicken, lamb, seafood, as well as special barbeque and Jamaican-style sizzlers with a choice of sauces. Go for their mac ‘n cheese sizzler, chicken BBQ sizzler, and lamb shashlik sizzlers that’ll leave you full and happy. Save room (if you can) for their sizzling apple pie with ice cream to finish your meal on a sweet note. For added convenience, you can book your tables directly on their website to avoid waiting in line.
The Bounty Sizzlers
Another old-school haunt for sizzlers is Bounty in Kalyani Nagar. Their sizzlers are huge, and so we recommend asking for the smaller size if you’re not a big eater. From buff steak to chicken, seafood, or veg/paneer, take your pick for a sizzling, saucy, feast – best paired with a cold beer or two. The chicken Cordon Bleu and the ‘steak special’ are our long-time favourites. Picky eaters (read: not here for the sizzlers) can eat from their Chinese menu, or pick a soup, burger, or sandwich. Try booking a table in advance, as it gets super crowded on weekends.
Kobe Sizzlers
Peri-peri, barbeque, salsa, chili-garlic, etc, there are a lot of interesting sizzler options to choose from at Kobe Sizzlers in Aundh. There are meaty as well as veg options starting at INR 520. Winter is a great time to enjoy this smoking hot delicacy and your visit to this place will be extremely memorable.
Zura Sizzler Kitchen
The newest kid on the block, Zura Sizzler Kitchen in Baner is an exclusive sizzler place that lets you customise your own plate. Choose between the basic protein in veg as well as non-veg option, the sauce of your choice, and the potato sides. The flavours include death by spice, cajun spice, black pepper sauce and many more. The prices start at INR 550. Even the appetizer menu is exhaustive.
