What Did You Like?

Houses in this Panchgani village, Bhilar, have been converted into beautiful libraries! There are 29 houses and each has assigned to it different categories like novels, historical fiction, children’s literature, etc. Each house has a display of books, all chosen by popular demand. You can pick a book and sit on the sofas, bean bags or anywhere around and enjoy the book.

Apart from the book, we loved the delicious homemade pakoras, wadas, juice and poha at Bhilar. You can also stay over in these houses and live your dream of sleeping in a library. There are also strawberry farms for you to pick and eat strawberries and a factory outlet of strawberry wine. Perfect place for meeting other book lovers. It is a reader’s paradise.

What Could Be Better?

Transport is a little sketchy. Most convenient will be to drive there. State transport buses will take you to and back from Panchgani. Panchgani to Bhilar and back will have to be a bus specifically designated for this route, or a cab, which is quite expensive.

Anything Else?

Probably the cheapest getaway ever. The houses have beautiful paintings on them, make sure you get some good clicks! The travel by state transport to and fro was INR 250. The food was another INR 50. So overall INR 300.
