Celebrate Easter With Hot Cross Buns, Chocolate Bunnies & Easter Eggs From These Bakeries

The information in this post might be outdated

Easter weekend approaches, and we’ve got all the deets on where you can score some tasty Easter treats.

Piatto - The Dessert Studio

One of our fave new dessert studios {although it’s so much more than that}, Piatto, will be making hot cross buns to order for the upcoming Easter weekend {March 30 – April 2}. For the uninitiated, a hot cross bun is a sweet bread bun, marked with a cross on the top, and traditionally eaten on Good Friday. Piatto’s buns will be made with mixed spice, studded with raisins, and glazed with a spiced sugar syrup. Yum! Get ’em while they’re hot, and thank us later. Read our full recommendation on Piatto here.

Chocolate Story

Get your fill of all things nice: chocolate eggs, themed cupcakes, carrot cake, and hot cross buns from Chocolate Story all this week, until Easter! Pick between handcrafted solid chocolate and hollow-filled Easter eggs. We prefer the latter, filled with either candy or chocolate-coated nuts and butterscotch. The goodies are priced between INR 50 – INR 1100, and Easter hampers are available on request. Pick them up from Chocolate Story’s store in Kalyani Nagar, and keep in mind that they take customised orders as well.

Sassy Teaspoon

Treat yourself and your loved ones to Easter goodies at Sassy Teaspoon, available from March 26 – April 2. There will be Easter eggs {of course} in big and small sizes, and themed cupcakes. Boxes of 3-6 cupcakes and 3 small Easter eggs will be available as well. Priced between INR 95 {for a cupcake} – INR 540 {for a half-dozen cupcakes}, we think they’ll make for make for really cute {and delish} gifts!

Forennte

Don’t miss Forennte’s annual range of Easter specials: from themed cupcakes and cake to Easter eggs, chocolate bunnies, and other surprises. We enjoy their usual fare, but their Easter specials really give us something to look forward to. Forennte is closed on Thursdays, so be sure to drop by between Good Friday {March 30} and Easter Sunday {April 1} for adorable, ‘grammable desserts that you’ll love to eat.

Brugge

Brugge chocolaterie is offering a range of ’10 unique Easter gifts’ to join in the festivities. Choose from Easter eggs, chocolate bunnies, chocolate hen-and-egg sets, bunny-and-egg sets, and more. The Easter eggs are available in different varieties – small or large, center-filled with hazelnut chocolate, etc. The chocolate figurine sets {bunny/hen with eggs} are priced from INR 280 onwards, large eggs for INR 250, a set of 25 tiny Easter eggs will cost you around INR 580, a chocolate bunny for INR 300, and the Easter hampers from INR 1000 onwards. There’s plenty to choose from, but we suggest you go big with their loaded Easter hamper! Brugge uses Belgian chocolate in all their goodies, and you can pick up their Easter specials from any of their 3 outlets {Dhole Patil Road, Kothrud, Viman Nagar} until April 10.

#LBBTip

Fat Cat’s Cafe in Wanowrie will also be selling traditional Easter Eggs, and Mahlzeit in Koregaon Park will be serving an Easter special dish – ‘eggs in green sauce’. The latter is a typical German dish, said to have originated from Frankfurt, and features boiled eggs in a creamy, herbaceous ‘green’ sauce – served cold. If you want to try something different this Easter, that’s where it’s at!
