What Makes It Awesome

Chinese New year is one of the most auspicious occasions in china! This 16 days celebration is filled with prayers, good luck, festivities and of course, good food!

Mainland China is celebrating Chinese New year, the year of pig in all their outlets by curating a special menu that will be there till the end of the month! I recently got a chance to visit this place and try out some authentic Chinese cuisines and take in the whole feel of Chinese New year!

Here's what we had-

➡️Soup and Starters-

🔸Veg Tom Yum Soup: Loved this soup! Tom Yum is a Thai hot and sour kinda soup. The one I had here was flowing with flavors of chilli, Lemongrass, garlic and lime cooked in vegetable stock. A great start of the course.

🔸 Matchstick potatoes with pepper and truffle oil: Basically, Fries! But extremely delicious ones! They were crispy and savory! They were tossed in spices, onions and spring onions giving them a delicious taste!

🔸 Edamame Dumplings with Truffle Oil: Cover was well cooked and it even looked great! But the filling of minced edamame, could used more flavor but it only Tasted like the natural taste of Edamame with a little salt.

🔸 Corn, Spinach and water chestnuts dumplings: These were pretty good! Light on the stomach and pretty healthy actually! The filling was perfectly cooked, it was flavorful and truffle oil just added the cherry on top!

🔸 Crispy Lotus Stem: Like the name suggests, it was super crispy! Loved the texture. But the taste, it could have been a little more spicy. It was rather sweet, more like a natural taste of lotus stem tossed in honey or maple syrup! It wasn't bad as such but I would have loved it if it had another flavor along with the sweetness.

➡️Main Course-

🔸Japanese Wheat Noodles: Soft and light noodles filled with veggies! They were really light on stomach! It was pretty simple but it's simplicity definitely holds some power!

🔸 Assorted veggies in roasted garlic sauce: An overpowering taste of garlic is to be expected from this dish! Although it goes well with the Japanese Wheat Noodles!

🔸Sapo Tofu: Sapo Tofu is Chinese Indonesian dish typically medium spicy and rich in flavor. This one was really good! It was spicy with a hint of acidic flavor. Tofu was well cooked and had a soft texture!

🔸 Black Sticky Rice with Edamame and Truffle Oil: I personally loved it! It may not look as appealing but it tastes good and it pretty light. But I loved it even more when I paired it with Sapo Tofu. Both dish dishes just bring out the best in each other!

➡️ Dessert-

🔸Mango Pudding: It was really really good! It was a bit light consider it was a pudding but it tasted amazing nonetheless! It wasn't overwhelmingly sweet, and the mango sauce served with pudding was going really well with it!

🔸 Sticky Date Pudding With Toffee Sauce: It was more like a cake than pudding to be honest. It was tasty though! The toffee sauce added a delicious twist to it! It was served with vanilla ice cream.

➡️ Ambience and Service-

This particular branch of Mainland China has become my favorite! Beautiful interiors that actually resemble the places in China, giving you the complete experience with Elegance and feel! It has been decorated on occasion of Chinese New year!

Service is prompt! Course after course, it doesn't take too long for the food to be right in front of you! The place is hygienic and clean. The staff is friendly and attentive!
