Ten-Second Takeaway

Monsoon season is almost upon us – and you know what that means…it’s the perfect time for a ROAD TRIIIIP! With plenty of long weekends ahead and cheap car rentals in Pune to pick from, here are a handful of resorts near Pune for different budgets.

Nirvana Inn, Mahabaleshwar/Satara

Newly minted Nirvana Inn sounds instantly likable, with stellar reviews to boot. Run by a young couple, it’s nestled in the heart of the Sahyadri mountains, just 130km/2.5 hrs away from Pune and accessible via the Mera-Satara road or via the Panchgani-Mahabaleshwar road.

Deluxe rooms start at INR 2950 for 2 people, while scenic valley-facing rooms start at INR 3950 per night, and can go up to INR 4200 if you’d prefer an adjoining sit-out. Their 9 rooms are themed after the 9 planets, air-conditioned {except for 1}. To add to the idyllic mountain views, nature walks and treks can be organised nearby, and it’s also a superb spot for stargazing as there’s no light pollution. We think it’s ideal for nature aficionados, or people taking a break from hectic city life.

#LBBTip: We’ve heard good things about their food, and also that you can also organise your own BBQ night and party by making arrangements with them beforehand.
