The information in this post might be outdated

What Makes It Awesome?

Situated close to the hill station Lonavala and 52 km northwest of Pune, Lohagad rises to an elevation of 1,033 m above sea level. Its is one of the best places can you visit during the monsoon. The lush green mountains and fog leave you amazed. It takes more than 2 hours to complete the but trust me its worth both the time and energy. There are small and big waterfalls to stop by in the middle, so the journey you will be taking up won't seem tiring and boring.

What Could Be Better?

There should be some guards or police; at points, the fort stairs seem slippery and covered in moss. It can be dangerous if someone slips from there.

What's My Pro Tip?

It's best that you visit this fort in a large group so that you always have help around you. The hike takes more than two-hours to complete so I would advise you to not take young kids along with you, and also try not to carry a heavy backpack.

Anything Else?

The food here is absolutely delicious and extremely cheap. It cost us only INR 600 per person for the night trek. Inclusive of travel, breakfast, snacks, lunch and stay.
