What Makes It Awesome?

Pune’s National War Museum at Ghorpadi, is a museum open for all who are interested in knowing the many achievements of the Indian Army. National War Museum allows you to see guns, models, rockets, tanks and MIG 23 Plane Prototype and many more important historical references that have assisted India’s bravehearts to guard the nation during the times of war. Not limiting themselves to the Indian Army, it also takes us back to the history of the Maratha Kings.
The museum is well maintained by the soldiers and allows civilians to shoot at targets under the guidance of the staff. You can also get 9 painted balls for just INR 70! Mostly famous for its collection of tanks such as T-55, Vijayanta, Captured Pakistani Patton Tanks, Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs), MIG-23 BN Fighter and a lot many more,  it also lets us know about ‘Mission Pawan’ used in Sri Lanka against LTTE. There’s also a gift shop located on the premises with reasonably priced products.

What Could Be Better?

The museum is spread over quite a big area however navigating through the premises can be a little confusing. Make sure you stop and ask the soldiers around if you need any help.

Pro Tip

Entry to the museum is free and photography is allowed as well. You can visit the museum from 9.30am-12.30pm and 3-7pm all days of the week except Tuesdays.
