Once home to Captain George Simpson of Bombay Esquire, Glenogle Bungalow in Mahabaleshwar looks like a vintage dream amidst a dense green forest. A perfect winter staycation, this place was built in the 1840s and continues to retain its old-school charms.
Glenogle Bungalow, sprawling across 6,000-square-feet, houses up to 10-15 guests at a time. The interiors have a certain rustic yet heritage touch. Basking in soothing yellow lights, the master bedrooms boast of wooden poster beds with lace falls, antique furniture, a work table and cabinets. The dining room looks nothing but royal - a long table in the middle, well set with cutlery, napkins and fancy candle-holders; 10 chairs surround the table; the walls feature expensive artwork and monochrome photographs from good old days.
Your stay at Glenogle will include a complimentary breakfast. For rest of the meals, guests need to pay separately. The in-house chef cooks lip-smacking veg Maharaja Gujarati thali and spicy red non-veg dishes. We say, must-try guys!
Price: INR 30,000 per night.
