If you want to do more on the weekend than just cheer on your favourite IPL teams at your local sports bar {read our recommendation for that, here}, we’ve got some exciting events lined up for you to pick from.

Parsi Bhonu at The Sassy Spoon

In collaboration with Bawi Bride, aka Perzen Patel, The Sassy Spoon is hosting a Parsi Bhonu food pop-up from April 16 – 30. Enjoy much-loved dishes like chicken farcha, patra ni machi, salli chicken and chicken/mutton dhansak; as well as ‘sassy’ new dishes like sali boti jardaloo pie, and lagan nu istoo pot pie. Veggie lovers, worry not – you’ll have options like tatrelo mushroom broccoli patio on khari, guava ni curry, 101 badaam paneer stew and more. Of course, there will be dessert – in the form of the iconic ‘lagan nu custard’, and a few new surprises. Wings #101 Festival at Plancha

Flock to Plancha on East Street for their Wings #101 Festival, April 19 to 21, featuring ‘global flavors from five different countries’. Take part in their ‘Lord of The Wings’ challenge, where you have to finish a plate of six atomic wings in under 2 minutes – the prize being you get that plate for free, along with a chance to be named “The Lord of the Wings”. They’ll also be screening the IPL so you’ll have plenty to scream and shout about, besides the lip-smacking spicy wings.

Storytelling at Pagdandi - Complexities of Mythology

Come together at everyone’s favourite book nook – Pagdandi Cafe – to explore the nuances of mythology in storytelling. Featuring three storytellers – Erica Taraporevala, Namita Kichlu, Dola Dasgupta; discuss ‘the complexities of how mortals became immortals, how nubile maidens were transformed to fearsome monsters, how gods, kings and princes raped women, how heavenly beauties seduced gods, how fathers ate their own offspring, how wives plotted to kill their husbands, how mothers abandoned deformed children and how husbands remained unfaithful to their wives and fearful of their own children’. The session is for those over 18 years of age only, and there is an entry fee of INR 150 per person. The event starts at 11 am and ends at 12.30 pm on April 21.

Not Just a Craft Beer Festival

True to their name, Not Just A Craft Beer Festival promises live musical performances, plenty of drinking games, shopping, delicious grub, and of course – chilled craft beer.
