According to news sources, there will be a total lockdown in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad starting July 13, to July 23. The decision comes after a meeting chaired by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, and due to the rising cases, and deaths due to Covid-19 in the area. As per the report only essential services including milk booths, medial stores, doctors' offices and all emergency services will be functioning through the lockdown. The idea is to shut down Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad to break the chain, and curb the transmission of the virus.
