Misal-pav is one of the most iconic Maharashtrian dishes, and also one of the most hotly debated topics in Pune food circles. One thing most people can agree on, though – is that Shri Krishna Bhuvan’s misal-pav is authentic, and super tasty.

Tell Me More

Each home or eatery serves their own version of misal-pav, so it’s not always going to be presented or taste the same, wherever you go. Misal-pav at Shri Krishna Bhuvan is served as a potato bhaji and yellow pohe base topped with chivdasev, and chopped onion, with two slices of white bread and the tarri or ‘sample’ {spicy gravy} on the side.

You can add the tarri to the pohe-bhaji mix as per your desired spice level. Shri Krishna Bhuvan’s tarri is made with tomatoes, onions, red chillies, and grated coconut – which we hear is a very pleasing combination of flavours, popular among locals and tourists alike. Soak it all up with the soft bread, and you’re good to go.

So, We're Saying...

Shri Krishna Bhuvan is situated in the by-lanes of Tulsi Baug, and there’s a bit of sightseeing and interesting shops you can visit nearby, as well. One order of misal-pav will cost you INR 70; extra bread is INR 3 per slice, extra tarri is INR 40, and extra onions INR 2. We also hear that their kanda-bhajji {6 pieces} for INR 40, and kande-pohe for INR 35 are worth trying. You can eat a full meal within INR 200 – a deliciously tempting offer that has us making plans to visit, right away!

We’re told they sometimes shut shop early if they run out of stock – so try and get there by the afternoon, latest.
