As we entered the hidden work studio in the basement of Narhari Cooperative Society, off Nal Stop, we were greeted by all things quaint and simple – Beautiful summer dresses and bottoms on the display hangers, birdcage ceiling lights, a full length mirror at a cosy corner, handmade colourful cushions on the wooden couch and above that, on the plain white wall hung pretty little embroidery hoops with the words, The Yarn Story stitched on them.
This Pune-based fashion label features contemporary patterns and prints on traditional fabrics such as cotton, khadi, mull and silk. From ajrak print shift dresses to smart culottes and ikat crop tops, every piece of clothing is unique and designed to perfection.
