Westend Mall in Aundh has a shop for every need you could possibly imagine – not to mention, they’re the only mall in Pune to have an IMAX theatre. Not just big-name international brands, they have plenty of national, regional, and local names as well – some of which you probably won’t see in your usual mega-mall. With a fixed budget of INR 5000 we decided to go shopping at Westend Mall. Here’s what we bought.
Mall Haul: Conquering Westend Mall Under INR 5,000
The Body Shop
We couldn’t resist the allure of The Body Shop’s perfumed aroma as we passed by, so we made a quick pit-stop here. What we found and decided to buy, was their brilliant ‘Blush On Bronze’ for INR 1295. It was a big spend on one product, but the quality was so good, we’re considering it a beauty ‘investment’ buy {wink wink}.
Globus
Globus was running some attractive sales and offers on their women’s clothing and accessories, so we decided to pop in and see what we could find. Their offer was 3 t-shirts for INR 1299, but we selected the art-pop popsicle tee for just INR 499. Browsing through their attractive accessories, we came across a cute unicorn coin-purse, and an even cuter cupcake card-holder for INR 299. We decided on the latter, and though we were sorely tempted to browse more accessories, decided to move on.
One Stop
A household store, One Stop had everything from cookware to cleaning supplies, storage solutions, utensils, crockery, cutlery, and disposable dinnerware. We found some lovely stainless-steel storage bowls with removable plastic lids in different colours and sizes, and decided to put together our own set. We bought a small, medium, and large in teal, earthy-pink, and beige – which cost INR 119, INR 149, and INR 199 respectively.
Nykaa Luxe
When we heard that Nykaa had their own store at Westend, we knew we *had* to pay them a visit. There’s just something more appealing about trying make-up on yourself before making your purchase, rather than buying it blind {online, without trying it}. We lo-oved Nicka K New York’s ‘radiant liquid eye shadow’ for INR 395, Ruby’s Organics transluscent pigment powder for INR 650, Nykaa’s own brand of essential oils in lavender scent for INR 350, and a bottle of Nykaa’s ‘Cookie Crumble’ nail polish for INR 199. Of course, we bought them all – no regrets!
Project Eve
Last but not least, we decided to check out ‘Project Eve’ – which had clothing, beauty products, and accessories for women. A pair of sparkly gold hoop ear-rings caught our eye, which we purchased for INR 399, along with some colourful, contemporary-style funky jhumkas for INR 998. We found plenty of other accessories we liked, like a set of 3 studs, feather-jhumkas, and beaded long ear-rings – but decided to stick to our budget and not over-spend.
Anything Else?
All in all, our grand total of expense amounted to INR 4,901. With the remaining money – INR 99 – we decided to treat ourselves to some brownie bites, at Sassy Teaspoon’s dessert counter at the mall.
#LBBTip
With the new regulations on plastic bags coming into effect, we suggest you carry your own re-usable shopping bags when you head to the mall. Some stores are cutting back on plastic bags, so it’s just easier to carry your own.
