Hauz Rani market is a hidden gem for all things ceramics. From crockery, flower pots, to decorative knick-knacks—we’re giving you the low-down. Big plates, small plates, soup bowls and spoons, serving bowls—you’ll find them all in varying sizes and beautiful designs. And if you’re looking for everyday crockery that looks more expensive than it actually is, you’re in the right place. We know somebody who bought eight large plates, eight small plates, eight bowls (two large, two medium, two small, and two tiny ones), eight serving bowls and eight cups for INR 5,500 which was obviously an absolute steal!
The market opens up around 11 in the morning and stays open till 8, however some shops stay open till about 8:30 or so. Everything can be bargained for. Another quirk about this market is that you (almost) get the same thing in every shop so don't blindly buy the from the firs shop you step into because there's a hundred per cent chance the same mug or plate is in the next shop over!
Additionally, what we love about Hauz Rani market is that you'll also be able to spot lots of home decor like showpieces, wall clocks, and mirrors that start at INR 50 (for small table pieces like salt and pepper shakers). However, this isn't an organised market, just a row of shops. Moreover, don't forget to make sure that you check each piece before you buy for any defects—you don't want to end up home with faulty pieces.

How To Reach: The nearest metro station to Hauz Rani is Malviya Nagar on the Yellow Line (5 minutes away from the market). The bus is also very accessible, it stops at Hauz Rani bus stop, which is just a 5-minute walk from the market.
