Let's face it. We all need a Lady Whistledown who would tell us exactly what celebrities, influencers, founders, movers and shakers have in their little black book. So, we became that person, and we're shining the spotlight on Arjun Sagar Gupta, Founder and CEO —The Piano Man Group. We caught up with him while he was heading to our favourite jazz club in Delhi and jamming on stage, to find out what are the things he keeps wanting more of. Here's what he had to say.
A Few Of The Piano Man Founder, Arjun Sagar Gupta's Favourite Things
Jameson
'Over the years I've become a very light drinker, but I remain partial to a Jameson on the rocks despite having access to just about any liquor! I also love fruity or spicy cocktails and am very happy with a well made margarita or a michealada. I am, however, slightly addicted to masala cokes!'
Art Tatum
'This is such an incredibly difficult question, but if I were forced to pick, then I'm most happy listening to Art Tatum, as Fats Waller once said when Tatum walked into a room, 'God is in the house'.
Smalls Jazz Club, New York
'One of my favorite places to sit and enjoy music is Smalls in New York. The little time I've spent there was a revelation!' Smalls Jazz Club was opened in 1994 and since then, has become an iconic spot in New York for jazz enthusiasts. Multiple generations of jazz musicians credit Smalls as their incubator and a start to their careers.
Favourite Restaurants In Delhi
'The Piano Man, duh! But other than that, on date nights, my wife and me end up at either Mahabelly, The Pit, Miss Margarita or Havemore.' If you haven't been to The Piano Man (Malviya Nagar and Safdarjung) yet then you are definitely missing out on one of the best experiences in Delhi. Its a jazz concept bar with different artists performing on different days of the week, great cocktails and immaculate vibes.
Clarks
'Clarks. Simple, comfortable. My daily wear.' Well, Clarks is easily a go-to brand for those who are seeking comfort doubled with classic shoe designs that are simple, non-fussy and always look sharp when paired with any outfit.
Kaffa Cerrados Colombia Supremo
'I don't really drink coffee, but I love the aroma of Kaffa Cerrados Colombia Supremo.' The super popular Colmbian coffee is famous among coffee connoisseurs for its slightly sweet taste. The website describes it as easily digestible, with its light and delicate taste, its medium acidity, and slightly nutty taste.
Kong Extreme Dog Toys
'Kongs extreme toys (the black colour ones), because they are the only ones Leo (my pup), can't tear through in five minutes. Love shopping at HUFT, and I got this really nice water filtration unit for Leo on Amazon that he loves.'
Zeiss
'Been wearing glasses for fifteen years, I have no idea what brands my frames are, I go to a shop and pick up shapes that look nice on my face. But I do like to ensure the lenses are the best quality available, usually Zeiss.' Zeiss is one of the leading brands in the eyewear lenses business. Their quality lenses are super reliable and totally worth the investment if you wear spectacles.
Beovox RL 2000
'I have an old set of B&O Beovox RL 2000 with a Beomaster amp from '92 that still sound like a dream. And I just picked up a set of JBL 705s for my mixing station at home. They are both at completely different price points, and the latter are significantly more affordable than current Beomasters, but if you can get your hands on a vintage B&O, I highly recommend it!'
Kevin Murphy Rough Rider
'My hair was a mess till I discovered Kevin Murphy — Rough Rider, hair clay.' This is a styling clay that delivers a slick, matte look with a seriously strong hold — perfect for roughing up hair of all lengths. Thanks to its oily, gritty texture, it's perfect for adding texture to otherwise clean, soft hair.
