Building a home bar can be a really fun experience, a space for experimenting with your cocktails, the centre of attraction of your parties and a place you can unwind at after a long day of work. Whether you're custom building one according to the needs of your home or just looking to place something that can fit in a compact space, we've got a couple of home bar designs for you.

Bar Cabinet

If you have a small space, the best way to incorporate a bar at home would be to go for a cabinet. The good thing is that there are so many readily available in the market, so you wouldn't have to go through the hassle of getting one made. You could also add some shelves for more storage or repurpose an old cabinet into a bar, the possibilities are endless.

Bar Shelf

Utilising the wall is a great way to add a bar to your home if you're not someone who likes to keep an extensive collection but still want a home bar. We suggest adding this above a console table, on which you can keep a decanter for a complete look.

Trolley

Need something that can move around and be a part of any room? We suggest getting a trolley, not just any trolley, one that's got everything a home bar would essentially have. You could choose to get this custom-made or find it online as well. You can incorporate wine racks, utility shelves, dedicate one side as a bar display, add LED lights and have a coated metal top for the full bar experience on the move!

Opulent Home Bar Design

A luxurious-looking home bar design has to include a backlit wall for all the expensive liquor, with marble countertops. If you notice closely they also have refrigerators below countertops to store white wines and beers.

Utilise The Corner

If you have some space in the corner of your room (living or dining room preferably), then a bar would possibly be the best way to utilise it. Two walls on the side are used to store glassware, the space below the cabinets can be used to keep barware. This one includes a rotatable bar display with one side with artwork and the other with liquor, which we think is smart considering you wouldn't want dust to settle or liquor to not show all the time.

Use Dark Colours

We love the use of a different colour to segregate the car from the rest of the room, especially darker colours, like this navy blue. This design is compact with sufficient storage but adding a different colour to the area gives the illusion of a bigger space.

Near The Kitchen

If you have an open kitchen, incorporating a bar on one side makes complete sense. It also makes movement much easier, you have drinks and food in once place, it's the best!

Incorporate Television

If you like to unwind with a drink in your hand at the end of the day, you might want to consider adding a television to your bar space. This doesn't necessarily need to be behind your bar, you can place it wherever it suits you best. You and your friends can watch the game from the comfort of your home and skip the lines and crowds of sports bars.
