What Makes It Awesome

I’ve always been a desi girl at heart, but I love to experiment and play around with fashion. So, when I stumbled upon CORD, I was absolutely blown away. Every piece they create feels like a masterpiece. The patterns, the silhouettes—they even gave the saree, the simplest of outfits, a twist I never thought possible.

Founded in 2015 by Neha Singh and Pranav Guglani, CORD set out with a mission to create everyday staples that make a statement. Their vision was simple, to blend comfortable fabrics with versatile cuts that can be worn anywhere. They draw inspiration from art, culture, and travel, combining these influences with time-honoured techniques. What makes them stand out is their dedication to slow, conscious fashion. They source raw materials ethically, and stick to all-natural fabrics.

Speaking of fabrics, CORD uses only the comfiest—poplin, cotton, twill, linen, you name it. A signature element in most of their pieces is hand-smocking, along with quilted patchwork, cross-stitch embroidery, and one-of-a-kind prints. Each design is far from ordinary. And celebrities are catching on—Farhan Akhtar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Dia Mirza, Jim Sarbh, and Ayushmann Khurrana have all been spotted rocking CORD’s effortlessly chic styles.

Their collection includes everything from bottoms and tops to co-ords, dresses, and jumpsuits for women. Men aren’t left out either, with shirts, overlays, co-ords, and bottoms. Plus, they have some seriously funky bags—one of which Alia Bhatt flaunted in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. To date, CORD has launched nine collections, with my personal favourite being the Shapeshifters collection which is their winter line featuring ‘60s-style pants, quilted jackets, and relaxed knee-length coats, all adorned with prints that evoke nostalgia.

Prices: For the ladies out there, prices start at INR 4,500 for the Bella Top, and for men, prices start at INR 5,000 for a Striper Shirt. They’ve also got quirky accessories like card cases for INR 1,250, and for the same price, you can snag one of their magnetic bookmarks or keychains.

Where to get them: They have their stores in New Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad for now, but they ship worldwide, so go ahead, get hands on one of their statement-making pieces!
