The trend of celebrity beauty brands is catching up faster than ever, with new brand launches almost every other day across categories. From JLo and Drew Barrymore, to Deepika Padukone closer home, everyone's got one! But, hey we are not complaining, as we love nothing more than to keep an eye out for what these trendsetters recommend or use, especially if their products are pathbreaking! Which brings us to Deepika Padukone’s skincare brand '82°E', which certainly made a buzz with its offbeat products (sunscreen drops, anyone?), and more so with its price range. The skincare market is fairly competitive with new ingredients and inventions going viral each day, and as '82°E' has stepped into the game, here is our review that will help you decide whether it's worth your hard-earned pennies or not.

About The Brand

Named after the standard meridian that crosses through India, 82°E is a clean, vegan, cruelty-free brand that uses exclusive Indian ingredients and aims to have a global reach with its clever and elegant formulation. The brand was launched with 12 products divided amongst cleansing, hydration, and protection, and the products that stood out the most are Lotus Splash Cleanser, Ashwagandha Bounce Moisturiser, Bakuchiol Slip Face Oil, Cucumber Quench Moisturiser, and Patchouli Glow Sunscreen Drops. The brand strives to inspire people to incorporate self-care practices in their everyday lives with lasting effects and comes in luxurious packaging while shipping globally. We have reviewed their best-sellers, and here is everything you need to know before investing in them.

Lotus Splash Cleanser

Lotus Splash Cleanser

Lotus Splash Cleanser

1200

Let's start with their cleanser, which has abundant surfactants and humectants. It has ingredients like Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate (a cleansing agent derived from coconut oil), Cocamidopropyl Betaine (boosts the foaming properties of a cleanser), antioxidants, glycerin, and multiple plants and fruit extracts. The product performs the job of a cleanser fairly well, without having the dry after feel, it is also gentle on the skin and generates a good amount of lather during the application. And although we like the ingredients, we do feel the product is a little over-complicated without the need, as the cleanser only comes in contact with the skin for a very short period, and all these ingredients would be more effective and useful in a serum or a toner, than a cleanser.

Price: INR 1,200 (100 ml)

Recommended For: The cleanser will work best for someone with normal to combination skin, and people with extremely dry skin can skip this one.

Ashwagandha Bounce Moisturiser

Ashwagandha Bounce

Ashwagandha Bounce

2700

Ashwagandha Bounce Moisturiser is a popular product from the range. It has emollients like squalene, caprylate, methicone, glycols, jojoba oil, hyaluronic acid, and other antioxidants along with anti-inflammatory elements like Ashwagandha. The moisturiser itself is hydrating and leaves fresh, plump-looking skin that looks nourished, with a slight dewy glow. It is also lightweight, non-sticky, absorbs quickly, and doesn't weigh down, although, you might need the feel to re-apply after a couple of hours.

Price: INR 2,700 (50 ml)

Recommended For: This product will work for almost all skin types, (dry, oily, combination, dry) and overall is a good moisturiser with a luxurious feel.

Bakuchiol Slip Face Oil

Bakuchiol Slip

Bakuchiol Slip

2900

Awarded as the second-best face oil by Clean Beauty Awards, Bakuchiol (plant extract) is an ingredient that is known to have similar effects to retinol and could be beneficial for folks who are sensitive towards retinol. Along with bakuchiol, this has numerous ingredients like squalene, raspberry seed oil, rosehip seed oil (which improves collagen synthesis), and sunflower seed oil (which is very rich in Vitamin E) and helps in reducing wrinkles and fine lines. It also moisturises the skin fairly well, but the texture of it is very oily, and heavy. This would work well in your nighttime skincare routine, where you can pack everything in with it, and it will give you that shiny glow that you get from face oils right after the application.

Price: INR 2,900 (30 ml)

Recommended For: People with oily skin should avoid this one, and folks with normal to dry skin can consider investing in it.

Patchouli Glow Sunscreen

Patchouli Glow

Patchouli Glow

1800

This product has faced a collective 'Nay!' from the internet, and would be a pass for us too because of the extremely oily composition, and solvents used. The ingredients though are highly effective and researched, with multiple UV filters, and antioxidants like Patchouli, and squalene, and these filters provide broad-spectrum protection as well while being super hydrating. But the texture of the product is too oily, feels very heavy on the skin, doesn't sit well or spread well, and does not absorb quickly – not at all what anyone wants from sunscreen.

Price: 1,800 (30 ml)

Recommended For: People with extremely dry skin, who also live somewhere extremely arid might make use of it, but we don't recommend this one for people with normal to combination skin.

Cucumber Quench

Cucumber Quench

Cucumber Quench

2700

A new launch, Cucumber Quench is another hydrating, lightweight, dewy-finish moisturiser from the brand. It contains ingredients like cucumber extract, xylitol, and Propylene Glycol (which is a humectant and works toward skin conditioning and nourishing). The moisturisers by the brand are among the best products, as this one too, is hydrating, and leaves your skin with a fresh glow and doesn't feel that you have something heavy on your skin. This one also absorbs quickly and leaves your skin feeling nourished, while also being a good product for people with oily skin.

Price: INR 2,700 (50 ml)

Recommended For: This is a good moisturiser, which will work for well people with normal to oily skin.
