DIY Homes: A Peek Inside Pooja's Victorian-Indian Home In Gurgaon

The kind of home you wouldn’t mind spending all your days in — that’s exactly the feeling Pooja’s home exudes. Called Matrichhaya, her space has an entrance that is super-inviting and positive. It leads to a Vastu-backed green door that opens up into a sprawling living area. The space includes a dining nook, too, but the highlight is the fireplace. Tucked into a corner, it brings in a countryside, Victorian feel that beautifully ties well with the rest of her home. Even the wall plates, linens, and artwork seem to transport you to another era.
There are old furniture pieces repurposed in truly inspiring ways, and a corridor that brings in a touch of drama — the good kind, of course. One of our favourite pieces is a 45-year-old trunk, now decked out with vintage movie posters. The bedrooms, too, are supremely cosy, mixing Indian textiles and art with Victorian influences to pure perfection!
