Yeah, we know the word 'minimal' might have become a little overused but what can we say, we are hopelessly in love with keeping all things simple and clean, especially decor so we might as well give it a shot and give our pandal a minimal makeover. The aim is to keep details subtle and towards light colours like white, off-white, or beige and adding fairy lights to add some life to the otherwise somber look. The idol is to be placed in the north, northeast, or west corners of your home. It is said that Lord Shiva is said to live in the North. West and northeast are also good options as they too are auspicious directions. Keep the idol away from bathrooms, toilets, and walls attached to them. The idol should ideally be facing the entrance of your home as it said to bring in prosperity that way. However, refrain from placing the idol under the stairs or any dark areas of the house.
